Feature Selection in Top-Down Visual Attention Model using WEKA

چکیده
A feature selection in Top down visual attention model for sign board recognition has been incorporated to reduce the computational complexity and to enhance the quality of recognition. The approach is based on a biologically motivated attention system which is able to detect regions of interest in images based on the concepts of the human visual system. A top-down guided visual search module of the system identifies the most discriminate feature from the

Visual Tracking of Vehicle Based on Top down Knowledge for Visual Attention System
In the first part of the chapter the top down visual attention system has been extended to visual tracking of vehicles application. The ability to accurately detect and keep track of vehicles is of large interest in machine vision. In machine vision, applications for vehicle tracking include surveillance systems which monitor the behavior of vehicles in roads or in traffic scenes. In the second...
متن کاملVisual attention guided features selection with foveated images
Visual attention is a very important task in autonomous robotics, but, because of its complexity, the processing time required is significant. We propose an architecture for feature selection using foveated images that is guided by visual attention tasks and that reduces the processing time required to perform these tasks. Our system can be applied in bottom–up or top–down visual attention. The...
متن کاملTop-down Visual Attention Computational Model Using Visual Feature Distribution of Search Target
Advanced information systems captivate people’s attention. Examples of such systems include advanced driver support cars and communication robots capable of interacting with humans. Modeling how people search visual information is indispensable for designing these kinds of systems. In this paper, we focus on human visual attention, which is closely related to visual search behavior. We propose ...
متن کاملEfficient Visual Search without Top-down or Bottom-up Guidance: A Putative Role for Perceptual Organization
Two types of mechanisms have dominated theoretical accounts of efficient visual search. First are bottom-up processes related to the hypothesized characteristics of retinotopic feature maps. Second are top-down mechanisms related to feature selection. Little effort has been made to understand visual search in terms of perceptual grouping despite its acknowledged importance in general visual per...
متن کاملGoal-Directed and Stimulus-Driven Determinants of Attentional Control
Selective visual attention to objects and locations depends both on deliberate behavioral goals that regulate even early visual representations (goal-directed influences) and on autonomous neural responses to sensory input (stimulus-driven influences). In this chapter, I argue that deliberate goal-directed attentional strategies are always constrained by involuntary, ”hard-wired computations, a...
